Camel Trekking
in the Great Sand Sea
14-days /13 nights tour
This route leads us on a path of the old road of the
caravans which in the past left from the
Mediterranean Sea to Sudan while passing through
Siwa and Farafra.
This trekking takes us through an admirable dune
landscape. The starting point of this trip is the
farm of our local partner, where all the camels are.
Almost all the foodstuffs comes from the organic
farming what is unique here.
For this trip, for organizational reasons we require
an early reservation.
Description:
Cairo - Oases & the Great Sand Sea - Cairo.
Itinerary in details:
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

visa formalities. Transfer and overnight in the
hotel in Cairo.
Day 2: Cairo - Oasis Bahariya
After the breakfast, we leave in the direction of
the desert towards the Bahariya oasis, also known as
the Golden Mommies Valley. Numerous sources
of water make of the oasis a green island in a sea
of sand. We thus discover the sources of hot
water, the palm tree alleys and of course
the exhibition of the famous Golden Mommies.
Dinner and overnight in the hotel in Bahariya.
Day 3: Departure with the camels
You become acquainted with the camels at the Abu
Nuss's farm. After loading the luggage, the trip
begins in direction of Draa Mariam (approx.
20 Km).
First night in tents.
Day

After approximatively
25 Km, we reach
Bir
Dakar,
the only source to
Dakhla.
Camels restock themselves with water can for the
last time. You discover the first sand dunes while
arriving in
Ghard Abu
Muharrak,
where the first dunes of the Great Sand Sea should
be seen - they have been expanding from Siwa until
Dakhla. Crossing
Sabaa Russ
and Sukkak,
we arrive in
Harrafish,
an isolated region. In
Ghard El Maluf,
we go up on a mountain where we already see the
green of
El Qasr-Dakhla
landscape.
Day 12: El Quasr
visit
In the morning we visit the small medieval and still
well preserved city of
El Qasr
oasis. This picturesque place is on a hill and
belongs Dakhla. The narrow paths were covered with
set of clothes and with palm trees to protect
oneself from the sun and the sand storms. Well
preserved also are the
minaret,
the
Madrasa

Court
